This is my first year participating in the Debut Author’s Challenge hosted by The Story Siren and I’m really excited! The challenge is simple – read at least 12 books written by debut authors in the YA and MG genre during 2011. Here is a starter list of what I plan to read, and I will be adding more along the way!

1)  The Latte Rebellion by Sarah Jamila Stevenson
2)  XVI by Julia Karr
3)  Across the Universe by Beth Revis
4)  Wither by Lauren DeStefano
5)  Entwined by Heather Dixon
6)  Between Shades of Gray by Ruta Sepetys
7)  Bumped by Megan McCafferty
8)  Moonglass by Jessi Kirby
9)  The Pull of Gravity by Gae Polisner
10)  Divergent by Veronica Roth
11)  Bad Taste in Boys by Carrie Harris
12)  Wildefire by Karsten Knight

  1. I’m considering doing this challenge, too. But I’ve never done a challenge before. I’m a little afraid I may not be able to succeed. My favorite type of books to read and review though are from new authors. So maybe I should just step up to the plate, put my fears aside and dive in?

  2. I really want to do this too, but I’m already doing the Contemps Challenge which is very similar. I may just pick some off the list & read as I go… yay for a new year with new books!

  3. It is my first time as well! I am totally looking forward to several on that list, especially Divergent and Entwined :)

  4. Ohhh, great list! :) Looking forward to your reviews.

I’m so glad to see Bumped on your list! I wasn’t sure if it counted, but hooray!!!! I’ll have to add it to my list now too. I love Megan McCafferty’s books and I’m really looking forward to this change in genre for her. Did you read the Jessica Darling series?

  5. You have no idea how exciting it is to see The Pull of Gravity on these DAC lists — especially the shorter ones! I hope you enjoy it. Please pop me a note if you’re willing after you read it.
