I loved the premise of this book
from the very beginning. You always wonder how those people out there feel who
have songs written about them in a not-so-flattering light. How do you deal
with all of that crap online with people bashing you? Or wanting your autograph
on the street? Robin Benway gives her take on what would happen and it is
HILARIOUS.
I am a big fan of female
characters who have a little edge to them – a little snarky, a little
sarcastic, and a little cynical. I identify with these girls and Audrey is no
exception. She was so hilarious and I laughed out loud so many times I lost
count.
I have another book by Robin
Benway (The Extraordinary Secrets of April, May & June) and I definitely
need to read it soon. Audrey, Wait was a fun, fast read that still makes me
laugh when I think about it.

I've heard this book is really good and I've had it on my shelf for almost a year now, but haven't read it! I'm glad you liked it...might need to move it up on my list!
ReplyDeleteLOVE Audrey :-) glad you did, too.
ReplyDeleteThis is one of my favourite YA books, love the crazy cat!
ReplyDeleteThis is one of the best books I've ever read! I laughed out loud, too, something I rarely do when I read. Extraordinary Secrets is also fantastic, but very different from Audrey, Wait!
ReplyDeleteSounds like a good book! Definitely adding it to my to be read list.
ReplyDeleteI've been wanting to read this one for quite some time. I even bought it at Borders a few weeks ago and yet, there it sits on my shelf :P
ReplyDeleteI love this book! I recommend it to people all the time when they're looking for a good contemporary YA. I didn't think The Extraordinary Secrets of April, May & June was quite as good, but it was still pretty fun. Great review!
ReplyDeleteThis book made me laugh a lot while I was reading it too, and I kept writing down quotes from it. So funny! I've been wanting to read her other book as well, so let us know what you think of April/May/June!
ReplyDeleteYes! This was SUCH a fun/funny book! I loved it a lot more than I thought I would!
