From Goodreads:
Once there were three. Three friends who loved each other—Jenna, Locke, and Kara. And after a terrible accident destroyed their bodies, their three minds were kept alive, spinning in a digital netherworld. Even in that disembodied nightmare, they were still together. At least at first. When Jenna disappeared, Locke and Kara had to go on without her. Decades passed, and then centuries.

Two-hundred-and-sixty years later, they have been released at last. Given new, perfect bodies, Locke and Kara awaken to a world they know nothing about, where everyone they once knew and loved is long dead.

Everyone except Jenna Fox.

Just when I thought a book couldn't delve into moral dilemmas more than The Adoration of Jenna Fox, here comes The Fox Inheritance

Told from Locke's point of view, The Fox Inheritance takes a whole new twist examining what Locke and Kara went through while Jenna was "reborn" and what happens after they are awakened. We find out what it was like to only semi-exist in the crazy world of your brain still functioning without a human body, and it's terrifying and creepy - even more so than the first book.

Many of the secondary characters in The Adoration of Jenna Fox become primary characters in The Fox Inheritance, adding a lot of depth and dimension to the story. We are also introduced to quite a few new characters, some good and some deliciously evil. Along with the new character developments came a wave of action and drama that wasn't seen in TAoFJ. Most of the time it was exciting and heart pounding, but there were a few points where it wore me down a bit.

All in all, The Fox Inheritance is a good follow-up to The Adoration of Jenna Fox and gives readers a new perspective on a pretty unique futuristic world.

  1. I enjoyed this much more than I expected to. I loved Jenna Fox and was afraid this was unnecessary. But it was so good.

  2. Oh, wow. Jenna Fox did pose a lot of intriguing questions and the idea of a brain functioning without a body...eek. I have to read this, no matter how much it unnerves me, because I really appreciate books that make you think.
