Waiting on Wednesday: One Moment by Kristina McBride

Waiting On Wednesday is a weekly event hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine that spotlights upcoming releases you are eagerly anticipating.

Title: One Moment
Author: Kristina McBride
Publisher: Egmont USA
Release Date: June 26, 2012

From Goodreads:
This was supposed to be the best summer of Maggie’s life. Now it's the one she'd do anything to forget.

Maggie Reynolds remembers hanging out at the gorge with her closest friends after a blowout party the night before. She remembers climbing the trail hand in hand with her perfect boyfriend, Joey. She remembers that last kiss, soft, lingering, and meant to reassure her. So why can’t she remember what happened in the moment before they were supposed to dive? Why was she left cowering at the top of the cliff, while Joey floated in the water below – dead?

As Maggie’s memories return in snatches, nothing seems to make sense. Why was Joey acting so strangely at the party? Where did he go after taking her home? And if Joey was keeping these secrets, what else was he hiding?

The latest novel from the author of The Tension of Opposites, One Moment is a mysterious, searing look at how an instant can change everything you believe about the world around you.

***
Aside from the fact that there is a foot on the cover, the actual story sounds super mysterious and the summary makes me want to know NOW why Joey is dead and Maggie is not.

  1. What an eye catching cover! It's nice to see different variations with the artwork. I'm getting a little burned out with headless people. :-)

  3. Yeah, not really a fan of the close up on a foot for a cover, but the story sounds interesting. Great WOW! :)

  6. I've been dying to see the summary and cover for this one so I'm so happy to see both have finally been released! It does sound super mysterious, and even though I'm not the biggest fan of the cover, I still like it. Great pick! :)

  7. Is it just me, or do a lot of contemporary-ish books have feet on the cover. I just bought 4 sarah dessen books, and 2 of the 4 had stinky bare feet on them. <--- the stinky part is just speculation, but under the hot lights and camera's, I bet they were getting sweaty.

This book sound pretty good though, I'll give it that.. however, I still want to slap a sock on that sh!t. lol
