Title: The Iron Daughter
Series: Iron Fey #2
Publisher: Harlequin Teen
Publication Date: August 1, 2010
Pages: 359
From Goodreads:
Half Summer faery princess, half human, Meghan has never fit in anywhere. Deserted by the Winter prince she thought loved her, she is prisoner to the Winter faery queen. As war looms between Summer and Winter, Meghan knows that the real danger comes from the Iron fey—ironbound faeries that only she and her absent prince have seen. But no one believes her.
Worse, Meghan's own fey powers have been cut off. She's stuck in Faery with only her wits for help. Trusting anyone would be foolish. Trusting a seeming traitor could be deadly. But even as she grows a backbone of iron, Meghan can't help but hear the whispers of longing in her all-too-human heart.

As soon as I picked up The Iron Daughter, I was instantly entranced. It took a little while for me to get into The Iron King, but this was SO not the case. I devoured this book in no time flat!
For me, the story really took off in this book from page one. I could literally feel the emotional roller coaster Meghan was on throughout the book, feeling her happiness, pain, and confusion like I was actually in her shoes. I love it when an author can draw me in like that, and Kagawa did a fabulous job!
The one character that stood out for me besides the main three and Grimalkin was Ironhorse. His booming voice would crack me up, but his immense loyalty to Meghan was incredible.
I will say…I’m leaning towards joining Team Ash. I kind of wish he was for real because he was totally making my heart melt. Puck still has a special place, but he started to bug me in this book. We will see if my team loyalty stays throughout The Iron Queen…stay tuned for my review tomorrow :)

ReplyDeleteLove this review and totally agree...I wasn't in love with the Iron King, but it just keeps getting better. Oh, Ironhorse.
ReplyDeleteYay Team Ash! I enjoy Puck, but Ash completely won me over in this book and The Iron Queen:) It took me a while to get into the Iron King as well, but you're so right, this one sucks you in instantly and doesn't give you a chance to put it down. Lovely review Tara, can't wait to see what you think of book 3!
ReplyDeleteIsn't it funny how the Winter Prince can make you melt?! And I was totally surprised by how much I liked Ironhorse in this book.
